2/5 of novel

In my book the main character Elliot has now been summoned by the "Guardians". They have told him a little about who they are but when they end the last meeting they end it with " we'll be in touch, you can count on that". Personally I think that Elliot is in pretty bad position already with his father that's alive but dead mentally, his over protective and unstable mother. Now you put in the fact that the law outside the school walls, who personally control who gets punished outside school have summoned him and promised more. I think if you put all of this burden on a teenagers shoulders, I'm just surprised he's still standing. My prediction for why the "Guardians" summoned him is that they were impressed how he handled the fact that he was confronted by the gym teacher and didn't rat out the people who were bullying Ben. So much so that they are going to make him into the next generation of the "Guardians".
